Recently, A Hand to the Disabled (H2D) carried out a life-saving medical outreach aimed at supporting our beloved beneficiaries — children living with disabilities.
This outreach was organized after noticing that many of the children were frequently falling sick, with limited access to proper medical care. Our goal was simple but urgent: to ensure that every child under our care receives immediate medical attention and basic treatment.
What We Found
During the medical examinations, it was discovered that many of the children were suffering from serious cases of malaria and other infections. Some had been silently battling these illnesses due to limited resources and delayed diagnosis.
The medical team worked tirelessly to:
Conduct general health check-ups
Test for malaria and other common illnesses
Provide essential medications
Offer medical advice to caregivers
Although this outreach focused on providing basic treatment, it made a significant difference in stabilizing the children’s health conditions.
Extending Care Beyond the Children
In the spirit of compassion and inclusiveness, the outreach was not limited to the disabled children alone. Elderly community members and caregivers who accompanied the children were also offered free medical check-ups and treatment.
This brought relief to many families who cannot easily afford medical services.
Impact of the Outreach
Dozens of children received immediate treatment
Malaria cases were identified and treated early
Caregivers received medical guidance on hygiene and prevention
The elderly in the community accessed free healthcare
The smiles on the children’s faces and the gratitude from caregivers reminded us why our mission matters.
A Call for Support
While this outreach was successful, the needs remain great. Many of our children require continuous medical attention, specialized care, and regular check-ups.
We invite partners, well-wishers, and friends of H2D to stand with us by:
Sponsoring medical outreaches
Donating medical supplies
Supporting treatment for children with chronic conditions
Spreading awareness about disability inclusion
Together, we can ensure that no disabled child suffers in silence due to lack of medical care.
A Hand to the Disabled (H2D) remains committed to restoring hope, dignity, and health to every child we serve.
